About North Little Rock Housing Authority

The North Little Rock Housing Authority (NLRHA) has served as an affordable housing provider for more than 60 years. Today NLRHA provides housing to over 1,000 families in traditional public housing and more than 1,100 under the Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher) Programs. NLRHA programs include:

Traditional Low-Rent Housing
Section 8 Voucher Program
Section 8 Homeownership Program
Section 8 and Public Housing Family Self-sufficient (FSS) Programs

The NLRHA, established in 1939, is a public body authorized by the United States Housing Act of 1937. The Authority is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and operated in accordance with HUD.s regulations and guidelines.

A five member Board of Commissioners nominated by the Board and approved by the Mayor for five-year terms governs the Authority. The Board includes a Resident Commissioner.


Mission Statement

The North Little Rock Housing Authority's mission is to provide affordable housing in good locations for low-income families, senior citizens, and disabled persons. Two programs are available - public housing and rental assistance. Applicants must be income eligible and subject to background checks.
